We will be hiking the beautiful Spur Cross Dragonfly Loop, a moderate 3.9 mile trail that includes a riparian area with cottonwood and willows, with sweeping views of Phoenix to the south and Skull Mesa to the north. There are ancient petroglyphs and giant saguaro groves along the way. At this time of year there is a good chance we will see running water as we hike alongside Cave Creek.
Spur Cross Ranch is located at 44000 N Spur Cross Road, about 7 miles north of Carefree Highway and Cave Creek Road. There is a $3 per person fee to enter the park. For driving directions check the map on the county web site at:

Depending on participation we may organize a carpool rendezvous location in North Phoenix as the date approaches.
Note: After we pass through the Jewel of the Creek area at the beginning of the hike there is little/no shade, so be sure to bring your sunscreen and plenty of water.
We will be having lunch at a local Cave Creek restaurant (location to follow) for anyone that would like to join us.
