This north-central Arizona park is located in Cottonwood and within the Verde River Valley corridor. The spacious campgrounds give quick access to most of the park features like trails, playground, lakes, and the Verde River. Dead Horse Ranch is a great place to stay while you explore the natural beauty and rich history of this popular Arizona region.
Each site has water, electricity, fire pit & picnic table. There are restroom facilities with hot showers close by. A dump station is at the entrance & the park has several trash bins.
If you want a tent site, (non electric & no water), for a lower price, contact the event host. Water can be obtained at the nearby restroom facilities. Tent sites have a fire pit & picnic table.
You can arrive anytime after 1 pm on Friday. We are in the Cooper's Hawk Loop. Remember to bring food, water, hiking gear & firewood. Your moderately behaved dogs are welcome. Please follow park rules.
On Saturday, we gather around the eating area at 5 pm for a potluck dinner. Participation is not mandatory. DA will provide plates, utensils, napkins & water. Your hosts will provide some sides. Remember, there is power so bring your crockpot.
So far we have:
- Potato Salad
- Assorted cheeses
Want to join us just for Saturday & the potluck, there is a registration for that! A separate day visit park fee of $7 will be charged at entry. Also, join us on Saturday for a visit to Tuzigoot National Monument which is a separate event & requires separate registration.
Your event hosts will once again be Mountain Men Joe&Hans who can be reached at DHR@ComputerComprehension.com
