The Burro Creek Recreation Site is situated along Burro Creek within a very scenic Sonoran desert Canyon at an elevation of 1,960 feet. This peaceful area has long been a favorite stop of travelers on nearby Highway 93. Visitors here are invariably fascinated with the contrast between the deep blue pools and tree-lined banks of Burro Creek and the saguaro-studded hills and cliffs of its desert setting.
The Group Campground, which is located next to Burro Creek & a spectacular view of the bridge, offers potable water, grills & a large Ramada with tables. Restrooms with flush toilets are nearby. There is an RV dump station.
You can arrive anytime after 1pm on Friday. Follow the directions below to get to the group area.
On Saturday at 4:30 pm, we will start grilling burgers & chicken for dinner. Social at the Ramada begins about 4pm. Dessert will be provided. Please bring an appetizer to share.
Remember to bring food, drinking water, hiking gear, swimming attire and firewood. Quiet time is from 10 pm until 6 am. Your moderately behaved dogs are welcome.
Directions: From the roundabout in Wickenburg, head N on US-93 for 57.8 miles. Here you will turn left onto Burro Creek Campground Rd. This turn is not well marked from the road so get in the left turn lane after you pass mile marker 142. Continue on Burro Creek Campground rd for a mile & enter the site. The first left is the group site.
