Join our DA Family for a fabulous time at the Grand Canyon
This is weekend after Labor Day
WHERE: We’ve got Mather Group Site 3 & 5
The weather’s been perfect the past few years, so we’re due for rain, so bring your EZ ups and hopefully we’ll stave off the rain.
We’ll follow the same schedule: Thursday night we’ll do a mixer so everybody gets to meet everybody. Friday everybody’s on their own to hike, shop, nap, or some combination thereof.
Saturday evening we’ll have Sloppy Joes and something vegetarian. Happy hour is around 5pm. We’ll provide some kind of happy hour adult beverage. Please bring an appetizer for happy hour.
If you’re new to this wonderful campout, or have CRS and can’t remember anything anymore, here are the basics. The sites we’ve reserved are for tents.
If you have an RV, go to www.recreation.gov or call 877-444-6777 to reserve your spot. The closest hotel rooms are located at the Yavapai Lodge, which also has a restaurant and free Wi-Fi.
There is a general store that has food, liquor and snack bar. Elk and deer have frequently wandered through the neighborhood. Toilets and mud sinks to do the dishes. Showers are available; bring quarters and flip-flops or river shoes.
We ask everybody to RSVP as usual. Please bring firewood.
