Jutting out of the Sonoran Desert some 1500 feet, you can't help but see Picacho Peak for miles as you drive along Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson.
Picacho Peak State Park is currently looking into a formal designation as an International Dark Sky Park to protect our dark skies and allow visitors to enjoy the expansive views at the park, even at night. Our current goal is to allow for needed, purposeful lighting while reducing the glare that is detrimental to experiencing the night sky.
The fee is $75/$85 per site for the weekend. For those wanting to share a site/cost with another tenting party, please notate this at registration and Carol or Deby will pair you with another camper.
Saturday evening at 6:00 DA will provide protein and water for dinner (inform us if you want a vegan option). Please bring a side dish and your favorite beverage.
There will be a $15.00 per night fee for each additional vehicle. The fee must be paid upon arrival at the park. The fee does not apply to a campers towed behind a primary vehicle, when the camper remains at the site and the primary vehicle is used for transportation.
